Welcome to our Eco page. Our Eco Council is made up of representatives from each year group. We meet regularly with Miss Lavis to discuss ways we can improve our schools Eco footprint. We are working towards making our world a more sustainable place to live by encouraging all pupils and staff to recycle.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
What have we been doing?
We have been working hard on raising awareness of the importance of recycling. We have installed foodwaste bins, paper and plastic waste bins in the corridors outside each classroom to ensure the pupils and staff in school are recycling their waste correctly.
What are we working on?
We have recently decided to focus on the amount of electricity we are using as a school and how we can reduce the amount of electricity used. We are currently completing a survey which will show us what electrical appliances are being left on when not in use. This will show us what we need to improve on as a school.
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
There are lots of ways your can help our environment. One way is to remember the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
Reduce- To throw away less. This can be done in many ways, such as buying unwanted products or simply saying no to a carrier bag.
Reuse- This can be done by reusing plastic shopping bags instead of buying new ones or taking your own travel cup to a coffee shop instead of having a take away cup.
Recycle- This means that you do not throw away your waste. Most of your waste such as paper, plastic, glass, tins and paper can be recycled and made into something else. This can be through your local authority collection or recycling centres.

How can I help at home?
It's easy! There are lots of ways you can help look after our environment at home, by recycling your waste and food waste and simply turning off lights when you leave a room. Here is a few tips and websites with some advise on helping us become a sustainable society.
