Welcome to Year 2 - Croeso i Flwyddyn Dau
Croeso! Welcome back to the Spring Term. We hope you had a fantastic Christmas with your families! We have already immersed ourselves in this term's topic - 'Mud, Mixtures and Medicines' and the children have been helping us plan our activities as we look at George's Marvellous Medicine, Potions and Mixtures, and the Celts and their mud houses.
Mrs Davies will be teaching Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Hart on Thursday and Friday.
The class website will be updated with the termly homework, skills overview and newsletters.
Please follow the links to access these.
If you have any queries please contact the office for us to give you a call back or make an appointment at a convenient time.
We are looking forward to continue working with you and your children this year.
Mrs Davies and Mrs Hart
PE - Thursday am. Please ensure that your child has the appropriate kit in school. PE Kit can stay in school, however, will be sent home to wash at the end of half term. Preferably we would like the children to wear black shorts and a white t-shirt.
Homework/Reading - Homework will be sent home every Friday. Homework will consist of a reading, spelling and maths activity that will be in their Homework books. There is also a topic homework grid, which can be found following the link above, with optional activities for your child to complete.
Children will bring home reading books throughtout the week. Please enjoy these books with your children. We will use every opportunity to listen to your child read.
Please return both the homework and reading books by Wednesday every week. This will allow us time to talk to the children and provide feedback.
Diary Comments - It would be very much appreciated if a short comment in your children's reading diary could be added, to let us know how your child has got on with the book at home.
Forest school sessions will be held throughout the year, we will inform you when sessions are taking place to ensure the children have appropriate clothing and a pair of wellies in school when needed.
The Reading Area
Reading is an extremely important part of your child's learning. We will take every opportunity to listen to your child read throughout the week, therefore, we would ask that you ensure that your child's reading book and diary returns to school by Wednesday every week. Pupils will also take part in a guided reading session, where we will look at specific reading skills.
The links below will take you to a few ebooks that you can enjoy with your child at home! Click on the pictures and don't forget to complete the activities attached! You will need to create a free account.
